Have you spoken to a career coach?

When considering gifts for students, hiring a career coach for those who are
occupationally challenged would be a wise investment. Career coaches can assist students in
determining not only a profession but also how to attain said occupation with the skills they have
or are willing and eager to learn. Furthermore, they can also guide students towards learning
what is needed to get into the industry they desire.

SHRM President and CEO, Johnny C. Taylor Jr., in a 2025 article offered advice on this
subject: “What to Look for in a Career Coach?” Career coaching is not a regulated occupation.
The most seasoned organization associated with career coaching is the National Career
Development Association founded in 1913. It has over six thousand members with the majority
in the States. Its roots trace back to the esteemed Frank Parsons.
